Zugspitze in a day

Tuesday, November 1 was a public holiday, had a decent weather forecast and I couldn’t come up with a better plan. So I decided to hike from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the summit of Zugspitze. Read more »

Krottenkopf and Seekarkreuz

Gumpertsberger Hütte

Another weekend and another hike with the Munich International Hikers. Even though this hike was advertised as an eays hike only 7 hikers showed up (me included).

I met with the others in Aschau. The weather was pretty much perfect and it seemed like there was very little snow left. So I decided to leave my snowshoes in the car, probably not the best decision but more on this later. Read more »

Christmas snowshoeing in the Alps

Last Saturday my girlfriend and I decided to spend the Christmas weekend snowshoe hiking in the Alps. We packed our gear and drove towards Wildbad Kreuth. Thank you to all the other Bavarians who stayed off the road! Read more »

When I reached the start of the toll road I found out that I had to change my plans because access to Valepp was already closed. I didn’t want to drive any further so I decided to repeat the hike up Bodenschneid I have done a year or two ago together with a colleague. Read more »
