Another weekend and another hike with the Munich International Hikers. Even though this hike was advertised as an eays hike only 7 hikers showed up (me included).

Last Saturday my girlfriend and I decided to spend the Christmas weekend snowshoe hiking in the Alps. We packed our gear and drove towards Wildbad Kreuth. I have driven the road from the Autobahn to Tegernsee many times, but this morning with fresh snow on the road was by far the fastest I ever reached my destination. Saturday was wonderful weather. Over breakfast I decided to climb the Schinder. Leaving at 9:15am wasn’t early enough, the road to Tegernsee was already crowded and traffic was slow. When I reached the start of the toll road I found out that I had to change my plans because access to Valepp was already closed. I didn’t want to drive any further so I decided to repeat the hike up Bodenschneid I have done a year or two ago together with a colleague. Read more »

This morning I was surprised by the blue sky, a nice change from the wet and cold weather we had the last few days. Gestern bin ich zusammen mit meiner besseren Hälfte die Tour Nummer 39 aus “Münchner Wanderberge. 50 Touren zwischen Füssen und Chiemgau” (Siegfried Garnweidner) gegangen.

Bis auf den Startpunktes war die Tourenbeschreibung brauchbar. Der versprochene Parkplatz war leider nicht dort, wo man ihn laut Karte vermuteten würde…
